Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Akhandam mobile application, operated by Chaitanya Tapovanam ("Akhandam", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What Akhandam Offers

The app provides three distinct things:

Spiritual and wellbeing content — meditation audio, yoga and knowledge material, for personal, non-commercial use.
Products — incense sticks and related items, sold and delivered to an address you provide.
Appointment booking — a way to reserve a time slot with a practitioner. The consultation itself happens directly between you and the practitioner, outside the app.

2. Eligibility and Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order or book a consultation. You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code sent to that number on WhatsApp. Keep access to that number secure — anyone who can receive your WhatsApp messages can sign in as you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, including your delivery address and phone number. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page in the app, or as described on our account deletion page.

3. Health and Medical Disclaimer

Akhandam does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and must never be used for a medical emergency. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

The meditation, yoga, and wellbeing content in the app is general information for personal practice. It is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological care. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new practice, particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or managing a medical condition.

Practitioners you book through the app are independent professionals. They are responsible for the advice and care they provide. Akhandam facilitates the booking only; we are not a party to the consultation, we do not supervise it, and we do not record or store anything discussed in it.

4. Appointments

Booking a slot reserves that time with the practitioner. You will receive a confirmation on WhatsApp, and the practitioner receives your name, phone number, and appointment time so they can contact you.
Consultation fees are paid directly to the practitioner, outside the app. The fee shown in the app is indicative and set by the practitioner. We do not collect consultation fees, and we do not process refunds for them.
You may cancel a booking at any time before the appointment, from the "My Appointments" screen. Please cancel as early as you can so the slot can be offered to someone else.
A practitioner may need to cancel or reschedule. If that happens you will be contacted on the number you registered.

5. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

Prices are shown in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order already placed.
Payment is processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI, or banking details are entered directly with Razorpay and are never seen or stored by us.
An order is confirmed only once payment is successfully captured. If a payment fails or is abandoned, no order is placed.
We may cancel an order and refund it in full if an item is out of stock, if the delivery address is not serviceable, or if a pricing error is discovered.

6. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in India. Delivery timelines quoted in the app or at checkout are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by courier delays, weather, and local conditions. Please make sure your address and phone number are correct — we cannot redirect a shipment once it has been dispatched.

7. Returns, Replacements, and Refunds

Incense products are consumable goods. Once a pack has been opened or used, it cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene and product integrity.

We will replace or refund an order if:

the item arrived damaged;
the wrong item was sent; or
part of the order is missing.

Report any of these within 7 days of delivery by emailing ctapovan9@gmail.com with your order number and photographs of the item and packaging. Once approved, a replacement is dispatched, or a refund is issued to the original payment method. Refunds are typically credited by your bank within 5 to 7 working days of being processed.

You may cancel an order before it is dispatched by contacting us; if payment has already been taken, it will be refunded in full.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

use the app for any unlawful purpose;
attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the app or our systems;
copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly perform the content in the app;
book appointments you do not intend to attend, or otherwise misuse the booking system;
impersonate another person or register using a phone number that is not yours.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, audio, images, and materials in the app belong to Chaitanya Tapovanam or its licensors. Your account grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the content within the app. It does not transfer ownership of anything, and it does not permit copying, redistribution, or commercial use.

10. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed, or withdrawn. Content and product availability may vary over time.

11. Limitation of Liability

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

We are not responsible for the professional advice, conduct, or outcome of any consultation you arrange through the booking feature. That relationship is between you and the practitioner.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it, and forms part of these terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts having jurisdiction over our registered office shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and continued use of the app after that constitutes acceptance.
