Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Akhandam mobile application ("Akhandam", "the app", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Akhandam Android and iOS applications and the backend services that support them.

Akhandam is operated by Chaitanya Tapovanam. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run the features you use. If you only browse spiritual content, we collect very little; if you place an order or book a consultation, we collect what is necessary to fulfil it.

Category What it includes Why we collect it
Account information Mobile phone number, name, email address (optional), profile photo (optional) To create your account, sign you in by one-time password (OTP), and identify you across sessions
Device information A device identifier, platform (Android/iOS), and a notification token To keep you signed in on your device and to send you notifications about your orders and appointments
Wellness and lifestyle questionnaire (optional) Age, gender, date of birth, marital status, occupation, sleep hours and quality, eating habits, physical activity, habits including any addictions you choose to report, self-reported stress level, and your answers to self-assessment questions about focus, memory, and emotional wellbeing To personalise the meditation, yoga, and knowledge content the app recommends to you. Answering is entirely optional and you may skip it
Shopping information Delivery addresses (recipient name, phone number, street address, city, state, PIN code), cart contents, and order history To process, deliver, and provide support for your product orders
Payment information Payment status, amount, and the transaction reference issued by our payment gateway To confirm your payment and maintain order records. See section 3 — we never receive or store your card, UPI, or banking credentials
Appointment information The practitioner you selected, the date and time slot, a booking reference number, and the booking status To reserve your slot and notify you and the practitioner of the appointment
Security logs OTP verification attempts, including the phone number, timestamp, and IP address To prevent fraud and abuse of the login system

2. What We Do Not Collect

To be explicit about the limits of what we hold:

3. Payments

Payments for products are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a payment gateway licensed in India. When you pay, you enter your card, UPI, netbanking, or wallet details directly into Razorpay's secure checkout.

Those credentials are never transmitted to, seen by, or stored on Akhandam's servers. We receive only the outcome of the transaction: whether it succeeded, the amount, and a reference identifier. Razorpay's handling of your payment data is governed by its own privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only with the following parties, and only to the extent needed to deliver the service you asked for:

Who What is shared Purpose
The practitioner you book Your name, phone number, and the appointment date and time So the practitioner can identify you, confirm the appointment, and contact you to conduct the consultation outside the app
Twilio Inc. Your phone number and the content of the notification message To deliver your login code, and your appointment and order confirmations, over WhatsApp
Razorpay Software Private Limited Order amount and reference; payment credentials are entered by you directly with Razorpay To process payment for product orders
Delivery and logistics partners Recipient name, phone number, and delivery address To ship physical products to you
Government or law enforcement authorities Only what is legally required Where we are obliged to disclose information by law, court order, or valid legal process

5. WhatsApp Messages

We use WhatsApp for two purposes:

These messages are delivered through Twilio's WhatsApp Business service.

Delivery of these messages is handled by WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta. Once a message reaches WhatsApp, Meta's own privacy policy governs how it is handled on their platform.

6. How Long We Keep Information

7. Deleting Your Account and Data

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. Full instructions are at intilt.github.io/akhandam-app/delete-account.html, or you can email us at the address in section 12 from your registered phone number or email.

On deletion we remove your name, phone number, email address, profile photo, questionnaire answers, saved addresses, cart, and appointment records within five working days. Financial records are retained as described in section 6.

8. Data Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Authentication tokens are held in the secure keystore provided by your device's operating system. One-time passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes and are never retained in readable form. Access to our production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

9. Your Rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, or delete your account and data. You can edit your name, photo, addresses, and questionnaire answers directly in the app at any time. To exercise any other right, contact us using the details in section 12.

10. Children's Privacy

Akhandam is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Users under the age of 18 should place orders and book consultations only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Where changes are significant, we will make you aware of them in the app.
